Hey All! Yea This blog has been pretty lack of post hehe... From Malaysia's part, I have been really busy with college work, work with clientele and also maintenance of my new blog address (click here). Been busy having a journalist like blog more than just about my life.

The picture above is the most current picture of our Cell! As you can see... we are no longer in Campus Town because the place has been rented out to an outside organization. Sad. But well.. no students from Utar or other close by uni uses the facilities available from CampusTown.

For cell, we have an average of 8-10 of attendence weekly out of a total and maximum potential of 16 cell members!

How's everyone on the international side? Would like to know how's everyone :D

Btw.. am in a lecture.. get back to you guys soon!

How are all of you? How's cell? How was the fasting? anything new occurred during the fasting? =p

many people here are fasting too...although more for cultural reasons than anything else..the season of lent they say..some are giving up booze (highly respectable considering how much they drink here), others are giving up sweets, chocolates and biscuits (which is quite hard too, considering that they're all very nice to go with cups and cups of tea)....interestingly, a lot of them wouldn't profess to be christians at all! =)

so yeah! come on...let's get this blog up and running again.... =)

Update on the CampusTown Cell!

Gosh! It's been ages since I last wrote something here! It's been a roller coaster year coming to an end! Life has it's ups and downs for me and for the Campus Town Cell but we prayed together and trusted God that when we walk through fire he will be there with us.

Campus Town has it's visitors and cell members come and go. Currently we stand 10 people strong in cell!

Arsh and Shamin are new members in our cell and joined us for 2 weeks so far and they are enjoying it!

Arsh is from Utar College her hometowns in Pahang and is a Christian, and Shamin is a new Christian since 2 weeks ago and she is from Ipoh and studying at Nirwana International College and they are born in 1990! Finally I'm not the youngest anymore! Hehe.. Not like it was a bad thing to be the youngest hehe..

I just want to ask for your prayers for Kerry and Joycelyn, as Kerry was from our cell and church, but he moved to another church which is located around GTPJ, not exactly sure whats the name but its short for Hope church. Apparently according to a fellow leader, their practices are questionable and also seems "cult-ish", as in they do sort of believe just like Jehova's Witnesses that you have to do good works in order to get to heaven. Joycelyn is Kerry's friend, and Kerry introduced Joycelyn to our church. She was quite affected by what I said about Kerry moving to another church and has moved to Sue Ling's cell, as I'm sure that it is quite hard to deal with a situation where someone who influenced you to attend church has back sliden .

I pray for Kerry that God will open his eyes and for Joycelyn to be comforted by God.

As for myself, I have been much better since the 2nd sememster started at my college. I can handle real clients now much better than before and learnt so so much of how time management is all so important to get organized in life without blowing up!

My family is doing fine, my brother is in his first sem in A-Levels at Sunway College and he is actively involved in the Sunway College Student Council and the A Levels Student council. He has been soo soo busy since then and has regreted saying that college life is fun hehe... My dad is doing ok at work, same old same old,but since we are at a bad time of the economy I pray that retrenchment will not come to my dad as he is going on 50 next year. My mum is great as ever :D I just ask for prayer for my dad's security in his job and also his desire to get a promotion as well as praying for the stock prices to rise.

Give Thanks

Following on what 3na wrote...

We should give thanks for answered prayers...

1 Thess 5:18 says that we should give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus...

That means we should not only give thanks for what we have, but also for what we don't have...for what God said 'yes' to, and what God said 'no' to...

so maybe next time our 'thank you' list might go somewhere along this lines:
Lord I thank you that I'm not rich enough to buy anything i want in the whole wide world, I thank you that you didn't give me the uni that i wanted, I thank you that mummy didn't buy the guitar that I wanted so very long ago...

or at least that's how my thank you prayer would sound like =p He knows what's best for me....

Matthew 7:7-11

Too often, believers view almighty God as a great cosmic Santa Claus in the sky: we think of our prayers not as petitions, but as demands. Then, if God does not grant our request, we're thrown into a faith crisis, believing He no longer answers us. The real problem, however, is that we misunderstand the Lord's three answers to prayer:

Yes. We love this response! There's nothing more exhilarating or faith-inspiring than watching the Lord move mountains in order to provide what we once saw as impossible.

No. Here is where the problems begin for us. But we must accept the fact that God says "no" to some of our requests. This is certainly not because He's greedy or uncaring--on the contrary, He is generous, loving, and concerned about His children.

Matthew 7:11 does not say God will give "everything to those who ask Him," does it? No, it says that the heavenly Father will give what is good to those who ask. Quite often, giving "what is good" means that He doesn't agree to things He knows are wrong for us.

Wait. This answer can be even harder than a flat-out "no." Yet some things that are good and right and godly may still be wrong for us today. Remember, God is eternal; He sees all time at the same time. If He regards tomorrow's blessing as a curse today, He'll withhold it for a season until we're ready to receive it.

Friend, do not be misled if God's response is not what you expected--or wanted--to hear. Instead, praise the Lord for answering our requests the way He knows they should be answered!

Prayer for our neighbours

Islam is the fastest growing religion and is the 2nd largest religion in the world! Every 4 humans is one muslim. Muslims have increased by over 235% in the last 50 years and up to nearly 1.6 billion. By comparison, Christians have increased by only 47%, hinduism 117% and Buddhism by 63%.

Do you know, that there are over 15 million Muslims in Malaysia alone. God's desire is for all to be saved and none to perish.

Jesus said, "I will give you the keys of the kingdom fheaven; whatever yu bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." (Matt 16:19)

Tonight all 101 GT cells (along with other churches around the world) will be praying along together that Our neighbors will come to know the truth and the truth will set them free.

Lets pray that:

God will place in our hearts, genuine love, care and concern for our Muslim friends.
Opportuinity for the Church to be bold and courageous in sharing the gospel, that fear would not be their hindrace.
As we reach out, the Holy Spirit will give wisdom on how to share Jesus without offending them.
That the Muslims in Malaysia wouldhave divine revelation through dreams and visions of Jesus Christ.
For those who have converted to freely share their new found faith!

For all online readers and fellow friends overseas, lets pray in unison that God will do something spactacular and amazing during this Hari Raya Celebrations this coming week!

Desert Song

I feel so tired sometimes of serving.. like right after each dance I choreograph, I barely get a few weeks rest before starting on the next dance. My brain feels tired of envisioning, my body feels tired from moving, my spirit feels tired from being emptied. A friend reminded me today that it's normal to feel this way in ministry. But that doesn't help my weariness.

My spirit's been feeling tired often these days. I think it comes with neglecting my quiet time *rueful* I am spending some time now refocusing, worshipping, and just letting His spirit fill me once again. Just feel like I'm walking a desert and I need that refreshing water that is God. I need to drink from His 'water bottle' as my pastor here says :)

This is my prayer in the desert..When all that's within me feels dry..I will bring praise, I will bring praise..

In every season of our lives, whether it's the desert, the fire, the battle, or the harvest, God is still God. He never changes, He is that consistent. And I will always have a reason to praise Him.

I know I'm getting my heart attitude right - it's my honour and joy to serve in the way I am called to serve. And though I get tired sometimes, hey, I'm only human :) All the more reason why I need to seek Him, so that I'll always remember that I do these things only by His strength and not my own... because on my own I get TIREDDDD.... hahah...I will just be drained!

I know I'm filled to be emptied again, the seed I've received I will sow..

Hey everyone! How are you all doing?

Hope you all are doing great wherever you are. So, this is my first post here. :)

Well, to start it off, did everyone manage to catch the Olympics opening?? Haha. Its like THE hottest topic or something.

I was glad we got to catch it (or at least most of it) together as a cell last Friday night at Picadilly. Sadly, there was some technical problem and we missed the very beginning of the opening which was apparently the best part of it. But, thank God for repeats. :)

Anyway, while watching the opening ceremony which consisted of SO many people, it made me think. I thought, there is really a lot of people in this world.

I mean, of course I know that there is a lot of people in this world but its like, just seeing the amount of people in the stadium and those involved in the ceremony, I felt so small. What more looking at myself through God's eyes. I felt really really small and insignificant.

And then this really made me realize how amazing God is.

The world may be big, but He knows me, He knows my name, I am not small to Him, I am not insignificant to Him and He knew me even before I was born. I mean, it is really quite hard to comprehend. But that is the truth.

The truth is that He made us, He knows us and He loves us very very much. :)

Maybe some of you have seen this but I'd just like to share this with you all. It is something that has never failed to touch me.

Wobbly Steps

Hi guys, it's Trina =D

Spent Sunday afternoon at Aaron's learning to play poker with some friends. I need to work on my 'poker face'! Anyway, after poker we went to another friend's place, where Aaron made roast lamb for dinner which was scrumptious =D That's when I told him about the cell blog hahah.. Didn't anyone tell him about it?? I didn't realise he didn't know. Whoops! Sorry Aaron.. It's either our bad, or you WERE told but you were just blur =)

Just wanted to share a little something that I read:

Wobbly Steps

Devotion:
After several months of continuous stress and challenges, I felt like giving up and saying, "This is just too hard, God. Find someone else for this assignment!"

Then, through an adorable little girl, God gave me encouragement to press on.
One-year-old Catherine is learning to walk. She takes a few wobbly steps and then falls down. She sits for a minute, as if to gather her determination, and then she pushes herself back up on her little legs. With each step Catherine attempts, we cheer her on like it's the greatest thing we've ever seen, as if we've never seen anyone walk before.

Then, when Catherine is getting tired or frustrated, her mom reaches down and holds her little hand. Catherine looks up at her mom, where she finds just the extra encouragement she needs to push herself back up and keep going. One wobbly step after another.

I think that's how God looks at us. Even our wobbly, uncertain steps please Him. He will never give up on us, and He will never be disdainful of our imperfect attempts to obey Him. He sees our hearts, which want to please Him, and He cares much more about our surrendered hearts than our perfect performance.

When we feel discouraged, frustrated or tired, we need to fix our eyes on Jesus where we'll find just what we need to press on.

Dear Lord, You know just how I feel. I feel discouraged, tired, and overwhelmed. I find such comfort in realizing that You know all about my feelings and all about my circumstances. As I set my eyes on You rather than my problems or my imperfect performance, I thank You that you will give me strength to press on and not to turn back. Thank You for holding my hand and walking with me. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Hello one and all!
I thought this was really an excellent idea on Trina's part, and so, I'll have to lend my support in one way or another in keeping this blog alive and happening right?

I wish there was some way I could convey how good God has been over the past few months as I was settling down and finding my place here in Melbourne. He brought friends, no, family, brothers and sisters who continue to encourage me as I run my race. There were times when I felt so broken, so upset or so lonely, but always, always, Jesus was there, be it in Spirit, or in His Word, or in the voice or hug of a friend or all three at once =).

There were times when I drew away from Him, but one of the awesome things about God is that even when you turn away from Him, His hand is still there, offered to you in love and forgiveness, no matter what you've done. I have fallen short, and while I lay there in the dust weeping in my brokenness, He came, and picked me up, carrying me when I felt like I had no more strength to go on.

So today, I don't want to go on and on for too long, I just want to say... No matter what you've done, no matter what you were in the past, no matter what mistakes you've made...He is waiting for you. If you feel like He's a distant figure out there watching you dispassionately, take it from me, Jesus is never really very far away. Like Trina said, when you take that one step towards Him, He takes many many steps to you in return...in fact, sometimes He comes running all the way. All it takes is that one step, that one prayer, that one cry in genuine desperation for Him...and He'll be there.

Wow wat an awesome time of worship with the team from City Life Church from Melbourne Australia.

We are blessed to have them to usher the presence of the holy spirit in Maranatha!

Today we leart that, WE do not receive God, by doing good things doing good deeds in our lives... we will still have the emptiness in our hearts... but we should allow God to approach us... open the door to him to fill in the space of our hearts... Amen???

Thoughts of my morning... over cookies and rasberry tea!!

ARGH!! early mornings on a friday is soo not cool!! Especially if u do not have class on Fridays... i mean... GOSH!!! u know when u have free days... where there is no lectures and tutes..... guess what! ... u got Assignments, proposals, meetings, Computer Graphics assignments that fills up ur free time!

After worship practice in church yesterday nite. i have been thinking over my thoughts sf taking a break from worship team... as i have been running against time since the last month plus, lacking time for all of my commitments...and embarrassing to say... its pretty obvious when i couldn’t get the timings right...didn’t have time to work on the killer solo to goreng for Saturday and Sunday’s worship sessions… it does show that I have been lacking practice… I felt that as a member of the worship team I did not do my obligations to find time ... everyday has been me running against hands of time.

Its not just worship team that I have been neglecting to make time for my priority as a scholar: focus on education…

I guess I have to persevere through this time…

You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. Hebrews 10:36

Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. James 1:12

Journey's Beginning

Hi everyone! *beams*

Yes, the idea is that a few of us will start posting here every now and again in addition to our personal blogs. WHY? Simply because this is our cell blog and it takes a unified initiative (plus a loving kick up the bum from me) to get things rolling here. I thought it'd be really neat if cell members shared their thoughts corporately here on this site from across the world. Wherever you are, share your experiences, your thoughts, and your testimonies so that we can all be encouraged as we run this race together.

I guess I should start then hey? :)

The last couple of months God has really taken me on a journey. What kind of journey, you may ask. Well, a journey of growth. Simple as that. Jesus has always been knocking at the door of my heart, and I've always been really stubborn about letting Him in. And you know what? Jesus is such a gentleman. He won't ever barge into your life unless you specifically open the door and ask Him to come in.

At the time, I desired in my heart to walk with God, but things in my life weren't changing - I was stuck in a rutt. And just like a scientific experiment I knew that if I wanted different results, I had to do things differently. I've learnt, that when you take the difficult first step, God takes many many steps towards you in return. The ball is always in our court. What choice will we make? How will we respond in this circumstance? I knew that my decision would determine whether I would go to that next level with God. And so I made a choice. I decided I wanted things in my life to change. I wanted a deeper relationship with my God. I wanted to know Him intimately.

I've actually been a christian all my life, but quite frankly, it feels like I was born again only a few months ago. I think that's the worst thing about 2nd generation christians. We get so comfortable leading an ordinary "christian" life - riding on the coat tails of our parents' salvation, and not really experiencing for ourselves the power that's found in Christ. What's the point of learning the logos word of God (the plain text in your bible) if it doesn't get applied to our lives and become the rhema word (the revealed word that has power). Lasting change only comes when there's a revelation in your heart; when the lightbulb comes on; when your eyes get opened. And that's what happened to me. That was the beginning of my journey :)

Since then, God's been doing tremendous things in me and through me and I can't wait to share more about my walk in later posts.

As far as first impressions go, I hope that was okay for my first time posting here! I really wanted to be open and to just share my heart with the rest of you. Hopefully this is a palatable introduction to whatever else I post here in the future :)

HAHAHAHA!!!

Kerry Thong - hails from Ipoh !! Studying Actuarial Science in UTAR College

Terrence - from Penang and studies at Mahsa as well!

Sandra - from a nation in Africa (will find out hehe...) a friend of Emmanuel studies at Mahsa as well!!
We have 2 more sisters from africa and one local from Utar.. who are friends of Emmanuel and Kerry respectively and are coming to our cell soon!

As we can see... GOD IS MOVING!!!

I thank God for the wonderous work he is doing in our cell and also to Emmanuel and Dionne who has given me support which i couldnt have asked for!!!

EASTER !!!!!

Wow time passes by fast doesn't it!

last friday, there was no cell but.... we went tracking in millennium tower with Emmanuel and myself representing our cell, John Aiden being the only representative from May Vern's cell lol ! we out numbered them this week! and also Sue Ling's cell.. now they came in numbers.... lol!

Tracking was fast actually... hehe 20 mins!!! haha... we did not have enuf fliers... only400... considering there are 9 floors of 15 apartments in both the guy's and the girl's building....

fliers werent split evenly tho!!!! since only 3 of us guys..... compared to the rest ..... just Emmanuel, John and my self we only have 130... dunno y it was not split evenly but... maybe.. just maybe.... God wants more girls to come for easter!!!!! THERE IS A GREAT AWAKENING FOR WOMEN IN CHURCH!!! ..... rite... haha mayb not... hehe!!!!

yes so.... BROKEN PRODUCTON IS HERE!!! this friday and Saturday and Sunday easter Celebration!! haha am taking part on the Sunday Easter Celebration... "Liang and friends.." as we r known... lol doing a medley of 3 songs this weekend..

yup aha thats all for now.... going to college... :D

Holy Spirit rain..... down!

Heya!

Hows every1??

cell was awesome last nite despite only Emmanuel, Kerry and myself!

Cell did not start as normal haha! Remember the drumset in Campus town?? We decided to make use of what God gave to us to use and we had our little trio worship team in Campus town!!!!!

We Rock'ed! Jumped Around ! and also Worship the Lord!!!!

it was awesome .. and quoting Emmanuel on how awesome it was, "The presence of the Lord is here... and the whole place will be filled with God's people!" ... is that a prophecy?? LOL ! when he said "whole Place" i figured..... Campus Town filled with people worshiping the Lord!! its not a cell anymore, its a a GT Friday Nite service!!!

After worship, we had word and the holy spirit's presence was so strong that we had an intense 1.5 hrs prayer for bringing our friends in our college, our oikos, to know more about Jesus!

ok... well... its been a while hasn't it... well a few excuses... is that i was so busy... u can check with my personal blog... tis also not updated!!!! yea... was working since then... 3 jobs at once!!!! yea... was super busy then... i quit my jobs at the end of September, but the one in salvation was till Jan, cause am gonna b busy for CNY..

yup! so happened that i forgot about this blog -.- haha since its been collecting dust for about 3 months... yea... so when Petrina mentioned about it... i was like .... omg! forgot about it totally!...yea n its good to hear that people do check this blog haha to keep updated with cell back at home!

yes... 2 days ago... as in Friday, despite... only being 4 of us (Daniel T, Petrina, Ven Xhin and myself), we had a whole lotta fun!

yea, we did worship and word...

(haha ... i didn't remember that this was taken..;p)

LOL! i am tempted to say that the pool game was so un-challenging thats y i decided to play darts ;p ... but haha... i just decided to play darts at the same time when tis not my turn in pool...

XD since we were having sooooo much fun playing pool ;p we decided to play one more game!! this was a close game as Daniel T and Ven Xhin.. were getting their game on and ever determined to win as they were getting better at the game!
it was down to the last black 8 ball!!!

and the winners were...

Ven Xhin & Daniel T!!!!!!

we lost! we were dumbfounded! we were... losers!!!!! XD

yea... i guess u can say that we gave them chance to win la.. as a last saving grace... hehe... since we won 2 already woot!!!! so yea we had a great time finished at like just after midnight.. . what a night!!!!

Our first official post!!! / CELL HARVEST !

Hey ALL!

This is officially the first post for this blog! Woot!! *round of applause plz!!!* And to mark the occasion, we are havin a cell harvest this comin Friday 21^st of sept 2007!

So, for all of u out there! I.e. Aaron, Adele, Bernie, Dionne, Emmanuel, Nick, Tammi, Tsu-Yi, Ven Xhin and my self! We are planning to do some potluck, so the main person you would have to contact for what food u will be contributing is Ven Xhin (012-2343570).

Some examples of food can be:

Drinks
Moon Cakes? (since its moon cake festival)
Finger food – nuggets, French fries, sandwiches, cocktail sandwiches
Salads
Chips
Cocktails, mocktails, fruit punch?

Yes so these are some examples, I am personally thinking of making some sandwiches and fruit punch! :D !!!

Do let us know if u can come (and we hope you can come so we can catch up with u!) If u need transportation, do let me know at (012-2179892), so that I can work something out.

Bring some friends! This is not just for us cell members to catch up with each other but also to keep our cell growing!

Hey all fellow readers!

For those of u who don't know me, or SHOULD know me...

Hi! I am Daniel New! yes... my surname is New....I'm currently attending Glad Tidings PJ church in Malaysia. This is not my personal blog, but if u want to know, its diaryofdanny.blogspot.com, if u want to know whats going on in my life! ;p i hav not updated since ages but i will get it going asap!

Now i would like to turn my attention to my fellow cell members who are here in PJ and those who are currently pursuing ur degress overseas!

The aim of this blog that i have just started , my.gtcell@blogspot.com, is for me to update u guys, my fellow cell members, who are overseas, namely Petrina, Li Yenn, Clement, Mojern (hope u guys are doing fine!) to know what we are up to in your beloved cell group back home! This blog is also for our irregular cell members who are unable to attend cell to continue to keep updated on cell stuff as we would like to keep in contact with u guys!

We as in those who are stuck here la!

Aaron, Bernie, Dionne, Emmanuel, Ven Xhin and myself, Tammi and Nick who will be leaving soon, and of course Sarah who continues to give us tremendous amts of help and support to our cell! Thank GOD!!!! XD

Soooo.... yea i think i covered up the basics! Of course i would be too busy with my studys as well so i might have to ask either Dionne or Ven Xhin if u can to help me update this blog! I have spoken to Sarah abt doing this blog thingymagig n i told her that i thought it was a stupid idea for me to do this lol as i think it could be the first ever GT cell group online post! Hurah!! ;p So, Sarah said i should give it a shot! which i just did about 15mins ago!

So yes do come on to this site whenever ur online! which i believe is everyday? and to check on stuff going on around cell!
